Three Indian fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on Sunday near Palk Strait in Tamil Nadu.
The capture comes after the Lankan government had earlier announced the release of all the 104 Indian fishermen from its prisons in view of Pongal.
However, Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries WMMR Adikari said that concerns have been raised over eight fishermen, who were charged for damaging fishing vessels belonging to Lankan fishermen.
