Prime Minister Narendra Modi today gave send offs Indian athletes who will represent the country at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

At the event organised at the Manekshaw Centre, Prime Minister Modi was seen interacting with the sportspersons and wishing them luck in the world's biggest sporting arena.

Such was the enthusiasm among the athletes that they were seen clicking selfies with the Prime Minister.

A total of 102 athletes from 13 different sport disciplines have already been selected with a few more names expected to be added before the start of the mega-event. The previous highest was 83 that the country sent in the 2012 Olympics in London.

Rio 2016 Summer Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 5 to 21.
