Prakash Javadekar calls for cleaner politics

Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Prakash Javadekar has called for 'clean politics' so that it could be the first option for the youth of the country and others aspiring.

He spoke about the virtues and shortcomings of the country's polity on the occasion of felicitating the winners of 'National Youth Parliament Competitions' organized by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs for the students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and Kendriya Vidyalayas here yesterday.

Javadekar said that the country's democracy is very vibrant as there are good leaders and activists in all the parties. Noting that the youth can serve the nation in any chosen field of activity, he urged the youth to join politics for its betterment.

 

Javadekar gave away prizes to the winners of National Youth Parliament Contests. These competitions are being organized by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs for the last 17 years for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and for 26 years for Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Afzal Amanullah, Secretary (Parliamentary Affairs) said that these competitions are aimed at acquainting the youth with the practices and proceedings of Parliament besides promoting oratory skills, leadership qualities, self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinion etc.
