Prakash Jha is 'positive' after screening of 'Lipstick Under My Burkha'

Filmmaker Prakash Jha says he is positive after the screening of his film production 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' by Film Certification appellate tribunal members today.

"We have shown the film to the members of Tribunal. We have made our submissions and they have said they will let us know their judgement. I am positive. It is in the hands of Tribunal" Jha said after the screening of the flick.

The movie, which speaks about the aspirations of women, was not given a certificate from CBFC for its sexual scenes, abusive words and audio pornography.

The flick won the Spirit of Asia Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Oxfam Award for Best Film on Gender Equality at the Mumbai Film Festival.

 

The film stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Ratna Pathak Shah in the lead roles.

Besides the 37-year-old, the film also features Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra, Plabita Borthakur, Sushant Singh, Vikrant Massey and Shashank Arora.
