Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shazia Ilmi on Tuesday described senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav as the spine of the party, adding that the duo had worked for the AAP with utmost sincerity.

"Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav are strength of the AAP, they are the spine of the party. AAP's spirit and soul are the volunteers who work for the party. I am very disappointed and I do not agree with my former colleagues when they accuse Prashant Bhushan of being greedy. He is way above these things," Ilmi told ANI.

"It is sad that AAP leaders are talking about Prashant Bhushan like this. Whatever revelations Arvind Kejriwal made were actually by Prashant Bhushan. Both Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan have worked for the party with utmost sincerity," she added.

The AAP has called a national executive meeting on March 4 to decide on various issues including the latest controversy over rift in the party.

The rift within the AAP came out in the open when Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan voiced their dissent against the manner in which the party is being run by Kejriwal.

The national executive meeting may decide the future of senior leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.

The two leaders also reportedly offered to opt out of the Political Affairs Committee of the party.
