Preparations for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah's rally scheduled to be held today in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir continue in full swing.
All the preparations have been made under tight security cover and a big stage has been set up at the Ramlila ground of Kathua which is situated in the heart of the city.
The city is covered with big flex poster and banners of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, and other prominent leaders who are going to join the rally.
To supervise the arrangement of Amit Shah's rally, Member of Parliament Avinash Rai Khanna visited Kathua to take a stock of all the situations and arrangement made for the rally.
"It's Amit Shah's first rally in Jammu and Kashmir after becoming the BJP president. A very big rally will be happening today and to complete their 44 mission plan every BJP minister and worker is working hard," said Khanna.
"Recently, Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani, Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla, Power Minister Piyush goel visited the state and today Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh is also part of rally. Earlier PM Modi has also visited the state, and it's the first time a PM has visited any state so many times," he added.
He also said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are fed up of false commitments and promises by the National Conference, Congress and Peoples Democratic Party. Now the people have shown their faith towards the BJP by making them win three seats of the Parliament in the recent elections.
Adding to it he said that the BJP is going to contest on all 87 seats of Jammu and Kashmir keeping in view the response of state people to achieve the target of 44 plus.
In an endeavor to consolidate and strengthen the party's position in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the state assembly polls scheduled later this year, Amit Shah had yesterday met party workers and MLAs in Jammu.
The BJP, which is making all attempts to widen its base in Jammu and Kashmir, has formulated a 'Mission-44' plan to win majority in the state and form the government.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, had however, stated on Sunday that the National Conference will make all efforts to halt the BJP in the state.
