Highlighting the recent ceasefire violations along the Line of Control, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday said the present situation is not conducive for the talks between India and Pakistan.

"Without ironing out any issues which are irritant how can they fix the meeting? Then what is the purpose of the meeting, there is no purpose of the meeting," Azad told ANI here.

"The ceasefire violations have increased since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power. The local recruitment in militancy has increased in the last one and a half years. The terrorist attacks have increased, the ceasefire violations have increased, even the local recruitment here has increased," he added.
