Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said President Pranab Mukherjee's joint address to both the houses of Parliament is a statement of the government's philosophy 'sabka saath sabka vikas'.
"The President's address to Parliament is a statement of our government's philosophy, 'sabka saath, sabka vikas', inclusive development, that is the philosophy of our government," said Naidu.
"The President has referred more than 50 initiatives taken up and proposed by the government in his address. The strategy of the government is also contained in the President's address is to enable every individual, institution and economy live up to their full potential for collective advancement of the country," he added.
The Union Minister further said the President's address also highlights the importance of infrastructure development, promoting manufacturing sector and modernization of agriculture.
"The President also highlighted the need for better investment climate and ease of doing business, for unleashing more and more opportunities to our people through economic growth. Economic growth and empowerment of the poor, they are the twin goals of the government," Naidu said.

He further appealed to the Opposition to not oppose just for the sake of opposing in the Parliament.
"Let us not politicise issues, we have to work hard to see that farmer's interest are protected and also at the same time development takes place in the country, enough infra has to be created, enough investments have to be invited and ease of business doing is also required to create well," he said.
The Budget Session of the Parliament began shortly after President Mukherjee's joint address to both Houses of the Parliament.
The Budget Session contains 44 items of financial, legislative and non-legislative business.
The first part of the Budget Session will continue till March 20 while the second part will commence after a month-long break from April 20 and conclude on May 8.
The Rail Budget will be presented on February 26, Economic Survey on February 27 and General Budget on February 28.
