President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday accepted the resignation of Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan and Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi has been given additional charge of the state.
Rajasekharan, the former chief of BJP in Kerala, was appointed as Governor of Mizoram by President Kovind in May last year following the replacement of incumbent Lt. Gen Nirbhay Sharma.
Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi will discharge the additional duties of Governor of Mizoram until Rajasekharan's replacement is appointed according to the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Rajasekharan's tenure as Mizoram Governor lasted for less than 10 months.
