Vice President-elect Venkaiah Naidu thanked President Ram Nath Kovind for congratulating him on his victory in the 15th Vice-Presidential elections, on Saturday.
Wishes have been pouring in from citizens as well as politicians from all over the country, and one of them is the former president Pranab Mukherjee.
Mukherjee in a tweet posted an official statement congratulating Naidu for his win and blessed him for the same.
In a written statement later he said, "Please accept my good wishes on your election as the Vice-President of India. As you taken on this onerous constitutional responsibility that includes chairing the Rajya Sabha , I hope and pray that you succeed in your endeavors and continue to serve the people of our great country."
Chief Ministers and MPs from all over are pouring their greeting on the newly elect Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, with many of them tweeting their congratulations with Prime Minister being the first one to do so.
In a series of tweets Prime Minister Modi congratulated designated Naidu and wished him luck for a "fruitful and motivating tenure."

Prime Minister Modi also went back to the times they worked together saying his mind is filled with memories of time he worked with Venkaiah Naidu.
He also said that he is confident that Naidu will serve the nation with dedication.
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) nominee and former union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu was elected as the 13th Vice President of India with 516 votes.
Whereas, Opposition nominee Gopalkrishna Gandhi has secured 244 votes.
Total 771 out of 785 MPs cast their votes today. However, it was revealed that 14 Members of Parliament (MPs) were not present during the voting process.
Voting for Vice Presidential Election ended with a total poll percentage of 98.21%.
The voting began at 10 a.m. earlier in the day.
