President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday met Suriname's counterpart Desi Bouterse and discussed issues of bilateral concerns.
Further, both Presidents also signed bilateral agreements and Memoranda of Understanding.
Earlier in the day, President Kovind received a ceremonial welcome at Presidential Palace at Suriname's capital Paramaribo.
Later today, President Kovind, along with India's First Lady Savita Kovind, who is accompanying him to their maiden official visit to Suriname garlanded the statue of 'Baba and Mai' at the monument of Mama Sranan (Mother of Suriname) in Paramaribo.
President also paid floral tributes to the monument of Mama Sranan.
He earlier paid tribute at the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in Paramaribo, the capital city of the South American country.
President Kovind, who is on a three-nation visit to Greece, Suriname and Cuba, is the first Indian President to visit Suriname.

Next, President Kovind is scheduled to visit Cuba.
