President Kovind, PM Modi condole Kader Khan's demise

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of veteran Bollywood actor Kader Khan.

Taking to his Twitter handle, President Kovind remembered Khan for his impeccable contribution towards the Indian film industry. "Sad to learn of the passing of veteran actor and dialogue writer Kader Khan. His versatility, from comic to negative roles, and the films he embellished as a writer are still remembered. Condolences to his family, friends and fans #PresidentKovind"

Prime Minister Modi also expressed grief and remembered the celebrated actor for his stupendous acting skills, unique sense of humour and prolific screenwriting. "Kader Khan Ji brightened the screen with his stupendous acting skills and lightened it thanks to his unique sense of humour. He was also a prolific screenwriter, associated with many memorable films. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers," he wrote.

 

The veteran actor passed away on Monday at the age of 81, due to prolonged illness.

According to various media reports, Khan was admitted to a hospital overseas, after complaining of breathlessness. He was put on a BiPAP ventilator for the same.

Born in Kabul, Afghanistan on October 22, Kader Khan was known for his impeccable comic timing, and his nonpareil work as an actor and a writer in several films.

He has been part of numerous blockbusters including 'Bol Radha Bol', 'Khoon Bhari Maang', 'Biwi Ho To Aisi', 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari', 'Judwaa', 'Dulhe Raja' and 'Haseena Maan Jayegi'.

He was last seen in 2015 in 'Ho Gaya Deemag Ka Dahi'.
