President of India Ram Nath Kovind and the First Lady Savita Kovind arrived at the Noi Bai International Airport here on Monday afternoon.
They were received at the airport by a delegation including the Chairman of the President's office Dao Viet Trung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Sanh Chau, Ambassador of Vietnam to India P. Harish and other officials.
The Indian President and the First Lady then departed for Hotel Sheraton in Hanoi to attend a gala lunch at the venue.
Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar took to Twitter saying, "# PresidentKovind and First Lady arrive at Noi Bai International Airport #Hanoi on their second leg of visit to #vietnam. Mr Dao Viet Trung, Chairman of the President's Office welcomed them along with ceremonial static guards!"
The President is currently on a tour to Vietnam and Australia. He will be in Vietnam from November 18 to 21 and engage in various bilateral talks. He will depart for Sydney, Australia, on the evening of November 21, marking a maiden visit of an Indian President to the island continent.
