President Pranab Mukherjee met South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) leaders at the Rashtrapati Bhawan here on Tuesday.
Mukherjee exchanged pleasantries with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Mauritian Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Since the morning, there were hectic parleys between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the SAARC leaders who were invited to New Delhi to attend the swearing-in of Modi as India's 15th Prime Minister.
Following the foreign dignitaries meeting with the President, some SAARC leaders are expected to leave for home, while the rest will fly out tomorrow.
