President Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the death of flute maestro Dr. N. Ramani.
"The nation has lost an artiste of exceptional ability. His sad demise has left a huge void in the field of Carnatic music which will be difficult to fill," a statement from the President's office said.
Ramani breathed his last in Chennai due to cancer on Friday. He was 82 and is survived by his wife, two sons, including flautist R. Thiyagaran, and two daughters.
