President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday congratulated Australia for its win the semi-final of the ongoing cricket World Cup, while wishing defending champions India luck for the next edition of the tournament.
The official twitter account of the Rashtrapati Bhavan shared the President's views.
"Well played Team India, better luck for the next World Cup; Congratulations Australia on an excellent game! #PresidentMukherjee," it posted.
Earlier in the day, Australia beat India by 95 runs in the semi-final of the 2015 World Cup at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with Steven Smith scoring 105 for the home side, before James Faulkner returned with bowling figures of 3-59 to see Dhoni's boys knocked out of the tournament.
Australia will face New Zealand in the final on Sunday in Melbourne.
