President Pranab Mukherjee will give away the official language awards at a ceremony here on Saturday.
Various Ministries/Departments of the Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings/Public sector Boards/Autonomous Bodies constituted by the Central Government and Official Language Executive Committees at the local level that have excelled in the promotion of Hindi will receive the official language shield and certificates in different categories.
With the advent of online IT tools, the Department of Official Language of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has been able to swiftly evaluate the performance and undertake a review of the huge volume of statistics and data in the implementation of the official language policy in various offices for the financial year 2013-2014, thus enabling the department to compile the Indira Gandhi official language awards programme.
In future, the Department hopes to declare in time and present the awards during the 'Hindi Divas' ceremony observed on September 14th every year.

The President had presented awards under the Indira Gandhi Official Language Awards programme for the year 2012-13 at a function on September 14.
