His Excellency President of India, Pranab Mukherjee today (April 7, 2017) presented R. Boominathan, CEO of Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management with NIMCARE World Health Day Award of Excellence.
Dr. Vijay Baskar, Health Minister, Government of Tami Nadu and Dr. Pratap C Reddy, Founder and Chairman, Apollo Group of Hospitals were the other two awardees.
R. Boominathan was honored in recognition of his contribution to hospitality education and paving the career path with 100 percent employability i.e., placements to all students. Till date, the institute has secured jobs to over 10,000 students holding grand job fairs in its campus.
Over 50 percent of its students are facilitated with part-time jobs where they can earn up to Rs. 10,000 a month and pursue studies stress-free being financially independent.
"I feel elated on receiving the award from President of India. This stands testimony to our honing of students with skill-based training and helping them have competitive edge in employability. We ensure that not only students gain talent but also a rewarding career accordingly," said R. Boominathan.
The award show was part of two-day (April 6th and 7th) Nim Care Word Health Day Summit 2017 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi that witnessed participation of luminaries of various domains who shared their valuable points on Psychological and Health aspects pertaining to respective fields for creating a depression-free society.
