Five-time World Champion and Olympics bronze medallist M.C. Mary Kom said on Saturday that sometimes, she becomes worried about her performance and people's reaction if she does not win a medal for the country.

"Sometimes, I feel a lot of pressure regarding what if my performance goes down? How will I handle it? If I do not get a medal for the country, what will people think about me? I get stressed at times, thinking all this," Mary Kom told ANI.

The star boxer, however, maintained that there is nothing more important to her than winning a medal for India in every match she plays.

Talking about her preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games, she said, "I always try to perform better and give it my best. I will try to give my best performance in the coming Commonwealth Games and try to meet the expectations of the people".

The 2018 Commonwealth Games will begin in Gold Coast, Australia, from April 4.
