President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday confirmed that following a successful angioplasty operation, he is recovering well. This confirmation came after he had been admitted to the Army's Research and Referral Hospital in the national capital.
The official twitter handle of the Rashtrapati Bhavan shared news of the President's recovery.
"Grateful for all the thoughts, wishes and prayers for my good health; I have recovered and am hoping to return to work soon #PresidentMukherjee," the office tweeted.
On Saturday, President Mukherjee had been admitted to hospital after he reportedly complained of stomach problems and related ailments.
According to reports, the doctors detected a blockage in one of the arteries, following which he had undergone a heart procedure and installed a coronary stent in President Mukherjee's artery to remove a blockage.
