Prime Minister Narendra Modi today once again exhorted the countrymen to spare just hundred hours in a year to take a pledge towards achieving a 'Clean India' .
"If we want a clean India, as a nation together we have to decide that we will not litter around. I beg my countrymen to spare 100 hours in a year for a 'Clean India'. If we need to change the country then we needs to change its face as well," Prime Minister Modi said here addressing a rally.
"Like as we enter a new house we clean the house. First people cleaned now I am cleaning. People in the country feel surprised that the new government will also have to do this job... Not only this on Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya's birth anniversary which is to be held on September 25th we have planned to organise a 'clean campaign' in all the Ministries from the 25th September till October 2nd," he added.
He rued the fact that till now there were no toilets for women and girls and he was pained at that.
"How will our sisters and mothers earn their respect when they don't get proper sanitary facilities. Even now girl students do not have separate toilets," he said.
