It has been reported that Prince's family might "bring a wrongful death lawsuit", following the confirmation that the pop star died because of an overdose from fentanyl.

In an aftermath of the recent reports that the 'I Wanna Be Your Lover' hit-maker died from a drug overdose, a source said in case no one is appointed as the beneficiary of the late singer's estate, the family might "be the ones to potentially bring a wrongful death lawsuit," reports E!Online.

An insider added that while "nothing is happening" to the 'Purple Rain' singer's estate for now, the battle between Prince's brothers and sisters could "get contentious" later.

Meanwhile, the news has surfaced that the U.S. Attorney's office and DEA are also joining the probe.
