Prince William triumphed over his wife Duchess Kate in a rugby tournament for youngsters in Dunedin, in the South Island, where they coached opposing rugby teams.
The 31-year-old prince even teased his wife saying "next time, next time", the BBC reported.
The royal couple, who is rumoured to be expecting their second child, were on their last leg of their 19-day tour to New Zealand, which will also take in Australia.
