A silk tie that was worn by Princess Diana, when she visited St Mary's Hospital in Paddington to see her new-born nephew Louis, Viscount Althorp, in 1994, is set to be auctioned off for 3,000 pounds.

The black silk tie that is emblazoned with gold elephants is being sold next Tuesday in its original gold gift-wrapping, some maroon ribbon and a note saying lots of love, from Diana, the Daily Express reported.

However, she wasn't the only owner, as she later gift-wrapped it and had it sent to a pal's daughter with a handwritten note saying that she hoped it would make her look smart at an upcoming job interview.

The tie, which has an estimate of between 2,000 - 3,000 pounds, is accompanied with an original picture that shows Diana wearing it on her hospital visit.

The auction also includes three Valentine cards that she sent to the same family.

In one card there is a wooden teddy bear holding two heart balloons, 2nd one has a foil-covered chocolate bear and third has a red, foil-covered chocolate heart, all of them has been signed by Diana with the message lots of love from Diana, William and Harry, they are expected to fetch 300 - 500 pounds each.
