Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted dinner for the participants of Black Rock India Investor Summit and said his priority is to establish global benchmarks in areas like governance, transparency and taxation.

Interacting with the dignitaries, Modi said that the priority of his government was growth and jobs.

The Prime Minister said there was rising interest in India, and 'we have to accept that responsibility.'

The Prime Minister said he believes in a fair, predictable and consistent tax system, and in economic policies that will drive growth.

Twenty one major global investors participated in the India Investor Summit on Tuesday. The list of institutional investors included asset managers, insurers, pension funds, and official institutions.

PM Modi has made headway on making it easier for outsiders to invest more in real estate, insurance and defence, but a rigid labour market and rotten infrastructure are huge deterrents.
