People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said that the priority at present is not to cobble up a government but to explore the possibilities of forming a government which would be able to deliver her party's agenda.

"Our priority right now is not to cobble up a government. We are in the process of exploring the possibilities and formations as well as credibility. We will do what is best for the people of Jammu and Kashmir," said Mufti.

"We are very thankful to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for electing us as the single largest party in the state. Though this is neither a decisive mandate nor on the lines of our expectations, we are looking for governance which is based on our agenda. It's going to take time to deliberate and explore. We will take our time to explore all possibilities; we are not in a hurry," she added.

Earlier in the day, PDP chief Mufti Mohammad Sayeed emerged victorious from the Anantnag assembly constituency in Jammu and Kashmir.

Out of the 87 constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP is leading in 25 seats, People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 28, National Conference (NC) in 15, Congress in 12, Jammu and others in seven seats.
