Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha on Saturday said that Priyanka Gandhi had played a 'mastercard' by shooting off a letter to the Special Protection Group (SPG) chief to withdraw security exemptions for herself and her family, when she actually desired this privilege.

He said the Gandhi family deserves SPG cover as it has made a lot of sacrifices in the past, but added that the letter to the SPG chief was a good card played by them.

He said: "By writing her letter, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in a way wanted to say that don't remove SPG, she played a good card."

Recent reports have claimed that the exemption from frisking that Robert Vadra enjoys at airports might be taken away along with his VVIP status and Z+ security cover.
