Pro-democracy protesters and the police have clashed in a battle for territory in Mong Kok district of Hong Kong.
According to reports, police charged the protesters after they breached their barriers that caused minor injuries on both sides.
Meanwhile protesters on social media platforms blame the police for attacking the demonstrators, reported the BBC.
Leaders on both sides have called for calm, and confirmed that talks between protest leaders and the government delegates will take place next Tuesday.
Demonstrators are protesting against Beijing's decision to vet candidates in the 2017 Hong Kong elections. They have blocked parts of the city and have been demanding a fully free election.
