The pro-reservation group, among the job aspirants staged a protest here on Tuesday, in protest against the cancellation of examination results, outside Samajwadi Party (SP) office against its chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) had cancelled the results of the 2011 state Civil Services examinations and said that the revised results would be released soon.
The UPPSC scrapped the examination results, following intervention of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Yadav had intervened after a delegation of anti-reservation job aspirants met him in Lucknow against the UPPSC's reservation policy.
The protesters are mainly students of Allahabad University.
Dinesh Singh Yadav, Chairman of Allahabad University Students Association said if their demands were not met they would intensify their protest against the SP chief.
"We demand from Mulayam Singh Yadav to impose the older reservation policy which was brought earlier by the chairman of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), Anil Yadav, otherwise we will not go from here till the time our demands are fulfilled. We will fight against them and will not let them win a single seat in the Parliamentary elections of Uttar Pradesh," he said.
The protesters raised slogans and carried placards against the party. Some of them threatened that it would prove damaging for the party in the forthcoming polls.
Some were severely injured as police resumed to baton charge.
Jai Vilas Yadav, a protester said many students have received injuries due to baton charge.
"We have been baton charged and in the process around 20 people have been severely injured. Some have got head injuries and some have been injured in the leg. I have also got a leg injury." he said.
Earlier, a similar protest was held in Allahabad when the court reserved order on the imposition of a new reservation policy according to which a new Public Service Commission's policy initiated a course of action by opening unreserved category of the vacancies for reserved candidates in the state.
