Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi who is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir said on Thursday that the problems of the Kashmiri people needs to be solved immediately and that the main agenda of his visit, was hearing out the cross border firing victims and help them.
"There has been continuous firing in the borders from which many people have been injured. Afte listening to them, I got a sense of their needs. I wanted to see for myself what was going on which is why I came here," Rahul Gandhi told ANI here.
He also met the Congress workers in Srinagar and asserted that the prevailing tension between India-Pakistan which was resulting in the rising cases of ceasefire violations, needed to be solved immediately.
When asked that what should be done about the people of Kashmir, who besides terrorism are facing issues, he said that without a doubt, their problems needs to be solved immediately
Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi interacted with his party workers in Baramullah where he lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for politicising his visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He also met the farmers associated with the National Saffron Mission in Pulwama.
On Wednesday, he met the ceasefire violation victims in Balakote where he interacted with them and put forth their demands to the Centre.
