Proteas cricket coach Russell Domingo has said that his team will look to continue with the momentum they are developing in one-day cricket in the ODI series against Pakistan in South Africa starting today.
According to Sport24, the Proteas convincingly beat Pakistan 4-1 in the UAE, but are aware of the areas that still need improvement ahead of the ICC World Cup in 2015.
Domingo said that they want to start finalizing the structures and the group of players that they go with.
The return of Jacques Kallis after an absence of nearly two years in this format is a welcome boost for the squad and gives the coaching staff the advantage of playing the extra batsman if needed, the report said.
Pakistan will have some confidence after finally getting on to the scorecard when they levelled the KFC T20 International series with a six-run win on Friday evening, but it's back to 0-0 in the three-match encounter, the report added.
Domingo said that it will be a different format in the ODIs and although Pakistan played really well in the second T20, South Africa played good one-day cricket in UAE and therefore, will have confidence.
