South African Test and one-day cricketer Jacques Rudolph has said that he has all the necessary credentials as a Twenty20 player and so should be respected in that format.

Rudolph is playing in his country's first-class side The Titans as an opener in the Champions League in India.

According to Sport24, although Rudolph has mainly been seen as a four-day or Test batsman through his career, he never had the chance to establish himself in the one-day side and has played only one T20 international before.

However, Rudolph felt that it is unfortunate that people see him only as a Test or an one-day cricketer given that he averages close to 50 in one-days and average over 30 in T20 cricket.

The report mentioned that Rudolph has spent six weeks in the West Indies playing for the Chris Gayle-led side Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League, adding that the team eventually won the inaugural event.

However, Rudolph admitted that he had a bit of a difficult time in the tournament given that he had to bat lower in the order despite being a top-order batsman normally, although he added that the playing in the tournament was a valuable experience for him.

According to the report, Rudolph has been involved in pre-season training with the Titans, who are pooled in Group B for the September 21 to October 6 competition.
