Six political parties of the regrouped Janata Pariwar on Monday threatened to not allow the Parliament to function, even as cadres of the parties held a protest at the Jantar Mantar, criticizing the government for failing to fulfill its promises.

"Our main issues are that the government promised to bring back black money but failed to do so. The government also promised to provide employment to the unemployed, among other matters. They also raised communal issues. Thus, on all these issues, the Janata Dal Pariwar is protesting at the Jantar Mantar under Mulayam Singh's leadership," said Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal.

Demanding the government to bring up these national issues in the Parliament, Agarwal added that the movement will spread from New Delhi to all over India.

He also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of trying to divide the nation on communal lines.

"The BJP and the RSS are together trying to divide the nation on communal lines. Only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can address the issues of the country, he should take the mater very seriously," Agarwal added.
