Protests against ongoing political-linked violence continued on Monday in most parts of Bangladesh, including national capital Dhaka, on Monday.
Demanding a return of peace and normalcy even as reports came in of another nine people, including two children, being burnt alive, the protesters urged the the opposition led by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to end their blockading of roads, railways and waterways.
They said the BNP-led opposition's demand for the removal of the duly elected Awami League Government was unjustified.
The death toll has gone up to 70 in the last month, and there are fears that the ongoing violence will damage the economy of Bangladesh irreparably.
