India's Chef-de-mission for the ongoing edition of the Asian Games and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Tuesday heaped praises on the jubilant Indian wrestlers at the event.

Speaking exclusively to ANI from Jakarta, Brij Bhushan said, "All I can say is there are a lot of talents that are slowly coming up and we need to nurture them well for future events. We were pretty confident of winning at least eight medals. But unfortunately, we got three so far."

On day 3, 20-year-old wrestler from Delhi Divya Kakran added to India's tally by bagging a Bronze, the Indian-chef-de-mission hailed the young wrestler's feat by calling her a 'bright talent'. He also said that feats achieved by wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia showed how determined and confident they were right from the very onset of the tournament.

"She ensured we win a medal on the third day too. I knew that if given a chance, she would come out strong. We were aware that a Bronze medal was on its way. Talking about both Vinesh and Bajrang, you could well understand how prepared they were to win the medals," he added.

Reflecting on her victory, Divya said, "It's indeed a different feeling because I had extremely worked, and, had everyone's blessings with me. The facilities I got back home to prepare myself were simply amazing. When you lose a Gold medal match, you are at least ensured of a silver. However, in my case, had I lost, I would have never got the opportunity to win a Bronze. So, it's special. The next aim is to work equally hard and earn India a medal at the Olympics.
