Putin invites PM Modi for Eastern Economic Forum meet

Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) meet, which is scheduled to take place in Vladivostok in September this year.

Putin extended the invitation during a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Modi on Monday. During the conversation, the two leaders also discussed bilateral cooperation and current international issues.

According to an official statement of the Ministry of External Affairs, the two leaders warmly congratulated each other on the New Year. Prime Minister Modi also extended his best wishes to the Russian people on the occasion of Christmas.

The Russian President also wished Narendra Modi success with regard to the upcoming parliamentary elections in India, the statement further said.

 

The two leaders confirmed their mutual willingness to increase cooperation in fighting against international terrorism and solving other pressing world issues. The two leaders also agreed to continue contacts at various levels.
