Pyrotechnic object found at Air Force Station

A suspicious looking object which later turned out to be a pyrotechnic item was found on Tuesday morning at the Air Force Station of Lohegaon by a staff member of the Air Force School, Vimannagar, the Indian Air Force (IAF) said in a press release.

"This morning a staff member of Air Force School, Vimannagar, located at Air Force Station, Lohegaon, found a suspicious looking object in the school ground, which is adjacent to a civil residential area. On receiving the information, IAF security team reached the Air Force School and the school area was cordoned off," IAF tweeted.

The object was safely disposed of by a member of the police bomb disposal squad after identification as a pyrotechnic object.

 

"Police Bomb disposal squad identified the suspicious object as a pyrotechnic object. The suspicious device was safely disposed of by the police bomb disposal squad," the tweet read.

No damage to life and property has been reported.

The IAF has launched an investigation in the matter. Further details are awaited.
