Qatar has confirmed that it detained two British human rights workers who had gone missing while researching migrant labour saying that the men were suspected of conducting illegal activities in the nation.
The Norway-based Global Network for Rights and Development's researcher Krishna Upadhyaya and photographer Ghimire Gundev had gone missing on August 31st as they were preparing to leave from the country.
According to the Guardian, Amnesty International had earlier urged Qatar's authorities to confirm about the workers' whereabouts.
Qatar's foreign ministry said that the men were being interrogated for violating the law and order in the country.
