The Trivandrum vigilance court on Monday ordered a "quick verification" probe against former Kerala finance minister K.M. Mani over a complaint that he used "bribed" amount to conduct a mass wedding in October 2014.

The complaint claimed that Mani spent Rs. 4 crore from the amount he received from bar owner's association.

On the occasion of the Kerala Congress (M)'s golden jubilee celebrations last year, a mass wedding of 150 couples was organised in Kottayam, where each couple were presented with Rs. 1.5 lakh and five sovereigns gold ornaments.

Earlier, a Vigilance Court had on August 27 ordered further probe against Mani in the bar bribery scam case.

The Kerala Congress (M) had recently snapped ties with the United Democratic Front (UDF) following differences with the Congress over the bar scam issue.
