South Africa has won the fourth one-day international against Pakistan by 28 runs on Friday in Abu Dhabi, taking an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series with one match remaining.
South Africa's solid 266 at the loss of five wickets was boosted by the maiden ODI century of Quinton de Kock, who made an impressive 112.
According to Sport24, two vital late wicket-taking spells by South African bowler Dale Steyn, which included the crucial scalps of captain Misbah-ul Haq (65), Sohail Maqsood (56) and Sohail Tanvir (1), saved his side from going down to a promising Pakistani innings, which however, nose-dived to abject capitulation.
Well-supported by Lonwabo Tsotsobe (1/49) and Morne Morkel (0/44) along with good fielding spells, Steyn wrapped up his spell by taking the wickets of Umar Akmal and Saeed Ajmal and finished with remarkable figures of 10-1-25-5.
The last match of the series will be played at Sharjah on Monday, the report added.
