Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was reportedly defeated by a group of local pub quizzers, whom he jokingly termed a 'bunch of cheaters', at a hotel near Glasgow last week.
The United legend, who led a team consisting of his wife Cathy, the hotel owner and a few relatives, is said to be a frequent pub quizzer with players and managers alike afraid to take on the intelligent Scot.
According to the Daily Star, but that fateful day did not go as the iconic Premier League-winning manager had planned, with his team finishing in third as he jokingly called the winning side 'a bunch of cheats' after joking around with fellow quizzers in the hotel.
The report mentioned that Ferguson gave the quizzers a chance for photos and had chats with fellow revellers in the hotel, where he was said to be staying ahead of his niece's wedding on Friday.
In 2010, former Manchester United player Andy Cole jokingly accused Ferguson of some 'dirty tricks' during regular quizzes at the club, saying that the most successful manager in British history would come up with his own questions and then would win the competition.
