Racing legend Dino Chiesa, who was the team boss to Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton during their karting days, has reportedly revealed that the Mercedes duo's rivalry goes back to the time since they were teenagers.

Chiesa had reportedly been team boss to the duo when they were 15-year-olds and were battling to become kings of the karting world on the first step of the motor sport ladder aimed at Grand Prix racing.

According to the Mirror, Chiesa said that Rosberg had always been the one who worked hardest and he had to because he had less talent, even though the Hamilton denied it.

Chiesa said that Hamilton's fast lap was always a little bit faster than Rosberg's, adding that the German knew it then and he knows it today and that is why he always waits so long until he goes out in qualifying.

Chiesa said that Rosberg has always worked harder and does all the dirty work, the set-up, working with the mechanics and engineers, but added that Hamilton has never worked as hard behind the scenes as the German.

Chiesa also said that Hamilton's talent pushed Rosberg to improve and with the Brit as a reference point, he showed the German where he had to go.

The racing legend added that even back then they were hard on each other on the track and never gave an inch.
