Following the huge outrage over the gang rape and murder of two Dalit sisters in Badaun, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi met the family of the victims here today.
The gruesome incident has sparked off widespread condemnation on the way it was handled by the authorities. Many activists, including former IPS officer Kiran Bedi, slammed the state government for its inability to maintain law order.
Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati too referred to the state as a 'jungle raj' administration and demanded President's rule.
