Taking exception to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's demand for External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's resignation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said the

former has not yet come out of the nightmare of the Congress' defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

"As far as Rahul Gandhi's obsession with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is concerned it is quite understandable because Rahul Gandhi has not yet come out of the nightmare of the defeat that the party faced in

2014 elections," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.

His comments come after the Congress vice-president earlier said that Prime Minister Modi should sack Sushma Swaraj over her role in facilitating the clearance of travel documents for former IPL chiefLalit Modi.

"There's only 1man running this country &the Govt-that's Mr Narendra Modi.Mr Narendra Modi should stop protecting Mr Lalit Modi," Rahul said on twitter.

"MrLalit Modi is a symbol of Black Money.Mr Modi is standing behind Mr Modi.Who's Sushma Swarajji? She means nothing in this Govt," he added.

The BJP is facing major flak from all quarters after Swaraj said on Sunday that she had taken a humanitarian view of Lalit Modi's case since his wife was suffering from cancer.
