Asha Ranjan, wife of murdered journalist Rajdev Ranjan, has urged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to wake up and take action against those involved in the brutal killing of her husband, indicating towards just-released gangster-turned politician Shahabuddin.
Speaking to ANI, Asha said, "four months have passed and Nitish ji did not even try to know the situation of my family that is suffering. Nitish ji, please wake up now. You can rectify your mistake and take action against criminals out on bail."
Amid speculations over worsening law and order situation in Bihar after the release of Shahabuddin from jail last week, a video of wanted shooter Mohammad Kaif surfaced yesterday.
In the video, Kaif is seen standing beside Shahabuddin while he was interacting with media after his release from jail on Saturday.
Speaking about the same, Asha said that the development clearly indicates that Shahabuddin is also involved in the murder case of her husband.
"The pictures are showing that Shahabuddin is related to Kaif and some others who are involved in my husband's murder. The picture clearly states that they have relations with Shahabuddin. Shahabuddin was released from jail on September10th and today is 13th. How is it that the police did not get to know where the culprits were?"she asked.
She further urged the police to arrest the wanted gangster and question him.

The prime accused in the murder case of Ranjan, Laddan Mian, is said to have close links with Shahabuddin.
46-year-old Rajdev Ranjan, the Siwan bureau chief with Hindi daily Hindustan, was shot dead on May 13 while returning home from office.
Ranjan had covered crime and court reports relating to Shahabuddin.
Though the five accused nabbed earlier have reportedly confessed that they shot Ranjan on Mian's instructions, Siwan Police have not yet been able to establish Shahabuddin's links with the murder.
The police have not ruled out Shahabuddin's direct or indirect involvement in the journalist's murder.
