Rajiv Mehrishi to replace Arvind Mayaram as Economic Affairs Secretary

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Rajiv Mehrishi, as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance vice Arvind Mayaram, on his relinquishing the charge of the post. Mayaram will take over as Union Tourism Secretary on November 1. He will replace Parvez Dewan, who superannuates on October 31.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has also approved the proposal seeking ex-post facto approval for entrusting additional charge of the post of Chairman, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) (Joint Secretary Level) to Santosh Kumar Sarangi.

Meanwhile, the competent authority has approved the creation of a post of Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Coal in the rank and pay of Secretary with immediate effect with the direction that the Ministry may obtain approval of the Union Cabinet ex-post facto.

 

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments: Anil Swarup, Additional Secretary, Secretariat for CCI, Cabinet Secretariat as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Coal in the rank and pay of Secretary against the newly created post; and Anil Swarup, as Secretary, Ministry of Coal vice S.K Srivastava, on his retirement on 31st October.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has also approved the following appointments: Ashok Kumar Angurana, Managing Director, TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs as Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj in the vacancy of Vijay Laxmi Joshi; Vinod Agrawal, Adviser, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes in the vacancy of V.K.Subburaj; ; Prabhu Dayal Meena,

Special Secretary, Department of Land Resources as Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence vice Sangita Gairola, on her retirement on 31st October; Alok Rawat, Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation as Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions vice N.Raivi Shanker, on his relinquishing the charge of the post; Anuj Kumar Bishnoi, Additional Secretary, Department of Defence as Secretary,

Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation vice Alok Rawat, on his relinquishing the charge of the post.
