Rajnath calls on Chinese Premier

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh called on China Premier Li Keqiang here on Thursday.

Both leaders met at Beijing's Zhongnanhai leadership compound in the presence of delegates from China and India.

The Chinese Premier had met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Beijing in May, and both sides pledged to boost cooperation between the two countries.

The Home Mionsiter had left for China yesterday for a six-day visit, during which he will take part in bilateral meetings and other engagements.

Singh, the first Home Minister to visit China in about a decade, is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese officials in Beijing during the first leg of his visit that will also take him to Shanghai.
