Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday praised the Border Security Force (BSF) jawans and said the security force has emerged as 'first wall of security' after years of great work.
"Our first wall of security is BSF. They weren't known much before but after great work by them over the years whole nation knows them," he said while addressing the BSF jawans here.
The Home Minister also interacted with the farmers of border areas and BSF jawans and also discussed their grievances.
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh was also present on this occasion.
Rajnath and Amarinder Singh also participated in a wreath laying ceremony and paid floral tributes to the memorial of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Earlier, Rajnath visited the BSF's war museum here. He also inaugurated a modern viewer gallery built to see Retreat Ceremonies on the border.
