Rajnath Singh arrives to take stock of landslide tragedy aftermath in Pune

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Pune's Malin village here on Thursday to take a stock of the situation arising after yesterday's landslide tragedy.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had directed Singh to rush to Pune.

Earlier today, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) S. S. Guleria had informed that so far 25 bodies have been recovered, eight people have been rescued and nine teams of NDRF are deployed on the spot.

Yesterday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said that that out of the population of 715 in Ambegaon village, around 44 houses had been swept away and 160 people are still feared trapped.
