Bollywood actor turned politician Rakhi Sawant Tuesday became the latest celebrity to participate in the 'Swacch arat Abhiyan' after she wielding a broom here.
Earlier this month, Sawant had made news when she went on a day longunger stike protesting against the brutal killings of a Dalit familyt Jawkhede Khalsa village in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.
The 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' was launched nationwide by Prime Ministerarendra Modi to focus on sanitation, hygiene and waste. It encourageseople to sweep, remove garbage, debris and unauthorized encroachmentsrom roads, markets and residential places. The cleanliness drive aimst making India a clean country by 2019, the 150th birth anniversaryf Mahatma Gandhi.
